Motel The Coral Sands (Ocean City, USA)

If cleanliness is your priority, you’ll be more than OK here. It doesn’t hit the heights of sophistication, but you aren’t paying for that.

They are simply superb and in the face of ever-increasing problems, members of staff do much to save the day. Their input is a real and positive feature of your visit.

The location is great and really close to the boardwalk. Breakfast is terrific and gated parking is a matter of feet away. A kitchen in the room is a money-saving bonus. It is also very quiet. All the basics are here.

The property is shouting … yelling … very loudly, for significant investment. Everything is so old and dated. Sometime soon, guests will savvy up and realise that a nearby competitor has invested in their business and can offer much better facilities for pretty much the same price. Here though, furniture is severely dated but without any antique value whatsoever. Bathrooms date back beyond a date that is considered reasonable and the electrics are in a ‘shocking’ state. It seems that investment here is minimal.

Parking is nearby but it’s not good. Not nearly enough spaces.

There are no hangers for clothes, room cleaning is sporadic, cleanliness is an issue and rooms with more than one bedroom come with inherent and annoying problems. A main negative feature is that to get to the second bedroom, you need to walk through the first one. Imagine the problems!
