A three-star hotel with a tropical theme, Watson’s Regency Suites is located on an Atlantic coast barrier island which is blocked by a beach. It has 79 spacious suites and is a ten-minute walk to the Playland’s Castaway Cove. The one-bedroom suites have a separate living and dining area. Each suite is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner, iron/ironing board, coffee/tea maker, sofa bed and television. Bathroom is provided with bathtub/shower, free toiletries and hair dryer. Full kitchen has utensils, cookware and dishware. Recreational amenities like heated indoor pool and hot tub are present. Services like coin-operated washer/dryer, free newspaper and meeting rooms can be availed by the guests. Wi-Fi is free and complimentary parking is available on first come-first serve basis. Cribs and roll away beds are available at a surcharge. Breakfast is not available however there are many breakfast spots located on the beach. Carey Stadium and Congo Falls Adventure Golf are within a mile from Watson’s Regency Suites.
Most of the guests, especially the kids, loved the clean and well maintained heated indoor pool. They could enjoy the outside view from the glass enclosed pool and got the feel of actually being outside. Kids loved being the pool all day long and splashing around. The spa hot tub and pool are close by so adults could enjoy the hot tub while keeping an eye on the kids.
The kitchen in the suite is well-stocked with all the necessary items. Guests could enjoy their meals at home whenever they wanted without the hassle of having to go out and look for restaurants. The daily maid service did a good job of cleaning the suites and restocking the towels.
Majority of the guests were very happy with the very convenient parking arrangements. It is a covered parking on the first floor under the main building. Finding a parking space was never a trouble for the guests as there were plenty of parking spaces.
Some of the guests with rooms next to the pool had a tough time dealing with the high noise levels. They were constantly disturbed by the kids playing in the pool till about 10 pm. The fumes of the chlorinated water were a wee bit difficult to tolerate and made their eyes water.
Few guests found the beds to be way too hard and firm for their liking and comfort. They woke up with a very bad backache the next morning.
The overall décor and furnishings of the suites was quite outdated and upgrading them would do wonders for the place as per many guests.
