Positive Reviews
positive:
Something different.
Guests said that rooms were far from your average hotel, with furniture and decor that were anything but generic. The property also maintained a vibe of the old Laguna Beach, and it was easy for guests to picture themselves in a hotel of days gone by, but with modern luxuries that made it hard to leave.
positive:
Spend some time by the pool.
The outdoor swimming pool was a treat. Guests could have spent all day there, and said that poolside loungers were ultra comfortable, service was attentive, and relaxation was possible because it never felt overcrowded.
positive:
Great customer service.
Service minded staff were a pleasure to interact with, and many guests commented on the exceptional hospitality that they received. Guests also said that their needs were sometimes anticipated before they had to ask, and this was the perfect place to feel a little pampered.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Technology restrictions.
Because this resort is located in a canyon, guests often had a hard time using Wi-Fi or even successfully making a phone call on their cell phone. If you really want to get away from it all, this could be a good choice.
negative:
Some views better than others.
Guests were frequently disappointed with the views from their room. What was described as a golf course view or view promising something picturesque, was instead a let down, with guests overlooking parking lots and exterior walls on a regular basis.
negative:
Soundproofing not the best.
Because renovations were done around original construction, thin walls could be seen as a problem. Guests complained of noise from neighbours, and while the grounds were generally described as peaceful, inside noise was sometimes another story.
