Positive Reviews
positive:
Basic but clean rooms
Luxury is definitely not part of the deal here but (with exceptions) guests do tend to describe the rooms as clean and spacious if a little dated. Accommodation is basic and not without shortcomings but you should find the rooms are adequate for an overnight stay.
positive:
Decent location
Guests have found the location of this hotel is convenient. Despite the nearby road, very few guests mention that they were disturbed by traffic noise. The setting of the property makes visiting the likes of Leicester, Peterborough and Northampton simple.
positive:
Low cost stay
If you are looking to keep costs down, the Redwings Lodge Rutland is worth a look. There are some problems here but the location is okay, the rooms are acceptable and come at a low rate and essentials such as Wi-Fi, parking and an albeit limited breakfast are included.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some maintenance issues in rooms
Although guests are fairly positive about the standard of the bedrooms , some maintenance issues are reported. These include broken amenities, cracked tiles in the bathroom and some mould. Some rooms appear to be in better shape than others.
negative:
Breakfast may disappoint
Breakfast is a self-service affair. Guests mention that the area in which you eat is fairly cramped and too small for the number of people using the facility. The staff is slow to clear the tables, so that doesn't help with the capacity issue. Also, breakfast is meagre.
negative:
Mattresses need replacing
Although mattresses are often a matter of personal taste, so many guests found the mattresses at this hotel too hard, too soft or too springy that you have to conclude that these are in urgent need of replacement.
