Positive Reviews
positive:
Superb value for money.
Wetherspoon’s are well known for providing good food and drink at reasonable prices, and this hotel is no different. The food is well prepared and fairly priced while the huge selection of ales and other drinks are a wonderful treat for a late nightcap.
positive:
Very handy for Cardiff.
If you don’t fancy paying the big city prices of Cardiff hotels and enjoy the homely feeling of a small town then this hotel is the place for you. The bus and train stations are both an easy walk, and there are plenty of services running to and from Cardi
positive:
Great staff provide a warm welcome.
The staff really go out of their way to make every guest welcome. There is a small town feel to the place that is hard to shake and is one of the reasons so many guests love to stay here. It’s the kind of hotel where everyone knows your name.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A very quiet town.
There is nothing at all to do in Bridgend besides take the train to Cardiff. The hotel seems to be the liveliest spot in town. You’ll struggle to spend more than a couple of nights here unless absolute quiet is what you’re after.
negative:
Cheap pub grub is just okay.
You won’t expect much from a pub menu so you won’t really feel all that disappointed. The food is okay but there’s very little selection for adventurous eaters. The other restaurants in town also close quite early, so you don’t have much choice.
negative:
Rooms a bit small.
You shouldn’t expect much from a pub hotel, but the rooms are a tad on the small side so be prepared for a bit of a squeeze if there with your partner.
