Positive Reviews
positive:
Location is just about perfect.
All of the North Bay area's main sights: the beach, Open Air Theatre and Peasholm Park, are all within a very easy walk of the hotel. The south side of Scarborough, where the town centre and the South Bay amusements lie, is only a 15-20-minute stroll away too.

Breakfasts are a real treat.
With grapefruit, muesli and porridge to warm you up and a comprehensive full English to fill you up, the breakfasts here do a fine job of ensuring you feel well and truly satisfied each morning. The option of having warm croissants with raspberry jam and Belgian waffles with maple syrup is most welcome too!
positive:
Staff are just lovely.
Friendly, hard-working and (very) knowledgeable; the owners and their team are just the kind of people you'd choose to have look after you in a B&B. Wonderful hospitality here.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfasts cost extra...
...Which is a little odd considering it is a 'bed & breakfast' accommodation. That being said, the breakfasts here are definitely worth paying a little extra for.
negative:
On-site parking can be inconvenient.
The hotel's off-road parking resembles a motor racing starting grid. This means that, if you park in the first or second position (or indeed the third or fourth position) you're likely to get blocked-in by other vehicles arriving later. The on-road parking is a lot more straightforward.
negative:
But that's about it.
When all's said and done, these really very minor niggles do not detract from The Lysander's ability to deliver enjoyable holiday experiences in any way at all.
