Lack of on-site dining.

Tiring climb to the rooms.
Due to the age of the building there is no lift on the premises which meant that guests whose rooms were located on the upper floors had to climb the steep and narrow stairs several times a day which some found quite tiring.

Remote location.
Although many guests appreciated the castle's scenic location, some did mention that they found it rather cumbersome having to drive to get to the nearest pubs, bars and restaurants.
