Positive Reviews
positive:
Reasonable rates for tropical paradise.
Although the apartments aren’t five star, budget travellers will appreciate the price tag. They still offer a lovely pool, balcony views of the island, access to food and drink in and around the hotel and a cordial staff. The Puerto Caleta Apartments are a great way to save on lodgings and have more dosh for holiday fun.
positive:
Impressive location.
First of all, you’re staying on a small island in the Canaries. Talk about prime location. Secondly, the hotel is within walking distance of the beach, close to loads of fun shopping destinations, restaurants and bars and near scores of interesting watersports and other fun activities.
positive:
Clean and pleasant.
While the hotel apartments are fairly basic, they are relatively comfortable—many coming with a balcony view—and include a refrigerator and microwave oven. In addition, the housekeeping staff stops by promptly every morning and keeps your room fresh and spotless throughout your stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Too many rentals, too few amenities.
While guests of the hotel love the view and the location, some haven’t been as fond of the amenities (or lack thereof). Although advertised as “self-catering,” the hotel only offers a refrigerator, a microwave and dishes. Other standards like a tea kettle and toaster are available, but only as rentals.
negative:
No climate control.
If you’re planning to holiday at the Puerto Caleta Apartments, you may wish to book your room during the cooler months. Temperatures can get very steamy throughout the peak summer months and the apartments don’t offer air conditioning. Fan rentals are available though.
negative:
Can be a little loud.
Despite the generally low-key ambiance and relaxed island settings, some previous tenants noted that the hotel can be a touch raucous at times. Between the foot traffic, the tapas bar and the occasional overhead plains, you may wish to procure some sound-dampening devices before arrival.
