Positive Reviews
positive:
Some of the rooms here have beautiful sea views.
Preston Sands might not be a luxury hotel but some of the rooms certainly have luxury views. You can look out over Paignton Beach and the English Channel, and if you're up early watch the sunrise over the horizon.
positive:
The staff here are very accomodating and friendly.
Good customer service is what you can expect here, from a warm welcome on arrival to a perfectly cooked breakfast in the morning. Have a chat to the staff and find out about all the great things to do in the area.
positive:
Excellent location close to the beach and pier.
You're just a short stroll from the sands of Paignton Beach, and a little further down the seafront you'll find the Victorian entertainment pier. The town centre is also within easy walking distance.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Facilities here are beginning to feel dated.
From the small box televisions in the bedrooms to the old rusty radiators, this hotel is failing to keep up with the times. They really need to invest in some new appliances and facilities to keep attracting new customers.
negative:
This hotel decor is not in the best condition.
Tatty carpets and old curtains are just a couple of things you can expect when you stay here. The overall decor has certainly seen better days and some renovation work would go a long way.
negative:
Quite close to train tracks so can be noisy.
Train tracks run fairly close alongside Preston Sands, so every now and then passing trains will cause a lot of noise and disturb you. The thin walls don't help either, especially when you have noisy neighbours.
