Positive Reviews
positive:
It's centrally located
The Lincoln Hotel has a major advantage in its address,
being a stone's throw away from the cultural sites of Old Havana, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site, a few minutes' walk away from the beach and near plenty of
nightlife and restaurants as well.
positive:
Views far and wide
Guest rooms and suites on the hotel's higher floors, the
breakfast room on the ninth floor and of course the rooftop terrace offer great
views of the city, the beach and the harbour which is a popular feature of the
hotel.
positive:
A bargain for quality food
A bargain for quality food. The hotel restaurant has long been well known and well liked in the area and this has not changed. Guests appreciate the abundance and variety in the complimentary breakfast (as well as the views which make trying it a must) and meals thereafter are also well done and not too expensive.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some noise from the street at night
Being in a lively and central part of Havana, entertainment
spots are nearby which means rooms lower down in the building or those facing
out onto the busier streets are susceptible to some disturbances in the
evenings, particularly on weekends. Perhaps request a room higher up to avoid
this.
negative:
A fairly run-down property
Although the hotel building retains some of its impressive old charm, some maintenance issues such as faulty elevators, wall plaster/paint or fixtures needing replacement, etc. are evident. It is however still kept clean and the rooms are comfortable.
negative:
Water pressure and availability issues
Many guests have complained of having little to no hot water
to shower for part of or even their entire stay as well as the water pressure
not being very strong. Overall, The Lincoln Hotel is a basic but comfortable
place well suited to no-frill short stays.
