In general, guests were very happy with the security precautions taken at the hotel, like keeping the front gate locked at all times. Many also felt that the immediate neighbourhood was actually quite safe, with guests saying they were comfortable walking in the area.

Rooms pretty clean on arrival
Quite a few guests mentioned that their room was very clean on check-in. They clearly felt that housekeeping had done a good job getting it ready.

Welcoming and friendly staff
Guests had lots of good things to say about the hotel’s staff. They were described as very welcoming, and possessing the sort of friendly attitude that one always hopes for in hotel and other hospitality staff.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit far from the Colonial District
A solid minority of guests were somewhat unhappy with the location of the hotel. The Colonial District is Santo Domingo’s main tourist zone and the hotel was described as being a good 5 minute walk from this area. It was clear that some guests would have preferred to be right in the district.
negative:
Problems with the Wi-Fi
A number of guests mentioned that they had problems with the Wi-Fi system. Going by the reviews, it seems that there may only be one router, located near the reception area. Guests in rooms far from this area reported having difficulty establishing a connection.
negative:
Problems with drinking water
It seems that the regular tap water in the hotel is not suitable for drinking and that the hotel itself does not provide or sell bottled water. Guests mentioned that this meant that they had to plan ahead and make sure they bought at nearby stores before heading to bed.
