About Heida's Home
Heida's Home provides budget friendly
accommodation in the city centre of Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland.
Brightly done up rooms with modern comforts typify the guest house, which is
close to the Hlemmur bus station and Laugavegur
shopping street.
There are 12 guest rooms: small, double, as well
as studios and private apartments. While the rooms have shared bathrooms,
apartments have private bathrooms. Towels and bed linen are provided.
Heida's Home can be directly accessed from
the airport via the Flybus facility. Guests have access to free Wi-Fi.
Guests can use the fully equipped kitchen
provided to get lunch or dinner at the guest house or can step out for a meal
at any of the cafés and restaurants close by.
There is a 24-hour supermarket, central bus
stand, several museums, art galleries, and night spots close to the guest house.
The Harpa Concert Hall & Conference Centre is about a mile from the guest
house.

The hotel's employees are very warm and courteous. They take guests' concerns seriously and move with haste to solve any problems and fulfil any requests that have been made. Guests were very impressed by the hotel's owner as being a wonderful host who was very hospitable.

The hotel is strategically positioned close to several restaurants and pubs. There are a number of shops in the area and a market just next door for guests who want to indulge in a bit of shopping as the shopping street is a short distance from the hotel.

Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi both in their rooms and in public places such as the lobby. The Wi-Fi is at an acceptable speed and the signal is available throughout most of the hotel and is easy to connect to

There is poor sound insulation in the rooms
A number of guests have complained about the lack of proper soundproofing in the guestrooms. Noise from the street easily gets into the room especially late at night and during the city's morning rush hour traffic.

A number of guests were of the opinion that the items served at breakfast were greatly overpriced. They felt that the value of the food did not match the prices shown on the menu if you take into account that this is supposed to be a budget hotel.

A few guests felt that having to pay in order to park their cars was very inconveniencing. Most were of the opinion that charging guests was not in the best interests of the hotel.
