The exterior setting of the hotel is beautiful and a fantastic place for a getaway. The bedroom view of Loch Lomond is impressive. The hotel has a rustic style and a serene environment. The atmosphere is affable and mellow.

Breakfast is good. The staff caters to those who prefer a vegetarian type meal as well as meat eaters. Lunch in the restaurant is good value and they serve generous portions. The choice of food is diverse, so you will find something to suit most tastes. The hotel serves great Scottish beers like 'Innes and Gunn' and 'Speckled Hen.' They are great with an evening meal.

Staff at the facility are a nice bunch. They go out of their way to assist with your comfort and needs at the hotel

Some of the hotel décor could use a good refurbishing. Don't be surprised if you see damp in in the room. The rooms are a reminder of the interior styles of the eighties or early nineties, which would be fine if they were aesthetic pieces; however, these appear simply outdated. Not only that, furnishings don't match, the television is no bigger than your laptop, and you may see cracked tiles in the bathroom. The place needs some serious renovations.

There are no pathways from the hotel. You have to walk along the active A82, which is daunting at best. It's quite busy, so you really have to take care.

Dogs are allowed in the dining room. That may bother some and not others; however, it is something you should know about.
